De Werkspoorkathedraal

Werkspoorkathedraal Utrecht an industrial event location for up to 3,500 guests Big thinking literally has room here

You are organizing an event that should make an impression. At the Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht, you get space, height, and industrial character for that. The Werkspoorkathedraal is an industrial event location on Tractieweg in Utrecht. The location accommodates events for about 50 to 3,500 guests. You can host conferences, fairs, corporate parties, presentations, and other business events here. The Apparatenhal offers nearly 6,000 m² of floor space. For smaller events and break-outs, there is the characterful Wasruimte of 330 m².

Why choose the Werkspoorkathedraal?
The Werkspoorkathedraal is suitable for business events where space and flexibility are important. Since 1960, large steel structures have been built here, including parts of bridges, large boilers, and the basket of the Euromast. You can still see and feel that history. High ceilings, steel, concrete, and original factory elements create the decor. At the same time, you have a lot of freedom in the layout. In consultation, you can bring your own partners with you. This makes the Werkspoorkathedraal suitable for conferences, fairs, corporate parties, concerts, and presentations. For smaller program components, you can create separate zones and subspaces.

 Rooms & capacity

• Apparatenhal: approximately 5,800 m² of floor space
• Capacity Apparatenhal: 500 to 3,500 guests (within the current permit)
• Wasruimte: 330 m²
• Wasruimte theater setup: 70 to 150 guests
• Wasruimte party: up to approximately 350 guests
• Break-outs: one separate space and extra subspaces according to your arrangement

From conference floor to drinks and corporate party
You enter a hall where your gaze naturally goes upwards. The enormous height, steel structures, and daylight give your event its own decor immediately. You can almost set up the Apparatenhal from scratch. Start, for example, with a plenary meeting and create zones for stands, catering, or meetings. After the substantive program, the same space transforms into a setting for drinks, dinner, or a corporate party. For smaller groups, the Wasruimte offers a completely different atmosphere. White tiles and concrete sinks remind you of the original shower and dressing area. This gives a dinner, presentation, or break-out a raw and recognizable character. You can also rent the Wasruimte separately for a smaller business event.

Practical arrangements and well accessible in Utrecht
The Werkspoorkathedraal is accessible by train, bus, bike, and car. From Utrecht Zuilen station, you walk via the Werkspoorpad to the location. Inside, you have a lot of freedom. The Apparatenhal has sufficient power outlets, underfloor heating, and basic mood lighting. The Wasruimte has a permanent bar, a basic tech set, power outlets, and mood lighting. The Werkspoorkathedraal works vendor-free, but we now also do our own catering with Hutten food & design and our preferred partner for technology For Live. This gives you the freedom for your own choice, or we can take care of it for you.

Industrial heritage that gives your event character
The Werkspoorkathedraal is not a reconstructed industrial setting. The building actually has a past as a factory for large steel constructions. Many original elements have been preserved. In the Wasruimte, for example, you can still see the characteristic sinks and white tiles. In the large hall, the scale and original structures contribute to the recognizable industrial character. Personal guidance accompanies this. The team works with clear agreements and a transparent quote. During the preparation, they think along about the layout, suppliers, and the practical execution of your event.
