About the venue
The Depot of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is the first publicly accessible art depot in the world and is located next to Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in the Museumpark in Rotterdam. In the Depot, visitors can see the result of 173 years of collecting. More than 155,000 collected artworks are stored together, arranged and structured in fourteen depot spaces with five climates. In addition to the objects, all the work involved in managing and maintaining a collection can be seen.
The Depot has a (literally) stunning exterior and a spectacular interior. When visitors take the lift to the sixth floor, they are greeted with another special experience. On the roof of the Depot, you not only have a panorama of the city, but you also find restaurant Renilde and hall Coert. Both are located in a green oasis at nearly 40 meters high.
Coert can be booked separately for events, but it is also possible to reserve the entire sixth floor exclusively. This increases the capacity to a maximum of 300 guests and allows for a more extensive program. We work with external partners for furniture and decoration, which has the advantage that every event can be organized according to individual wishes and tastes. This makes each event unique!
The catering for each event is provided by the in-house kitchen brigade of Renilde. Sustainability plays an important role within the Depot, and within the food concept, this is reflected in the use of as many local and seasonal products as possible. Just like in Renilde, we work at events with a carte blanche menu, allowing the availability of products to determine the menu. Of course, we also offer various drink arrangements, lunches, receptions, and guided tours.
- Comfort: nice space with plenty of daylight and views;
- Exclusivity: combination of Coert and Renilde offers the possibility of events for up to 300 guests;
- Unique: the first publicly accessible art depot in the world;
- Accessible: public transport within walking distance and a parking garage under the Depot;
- Experience: during events, guided tours through the Depot with an art teacher;
- Sustainable: solar energy, rainwater storage, and a kitchen with fresh, local products;
- Special: meetings, receptions, dining, and parties in an iconic building!
