A monumental city villa full of art and inspiration!

At Valeriusplein in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid lies Huize Zonnewijzer, a monumental city villa from 1919, designed in the style of the Amsterdam School. The house and the surrounding sculpture garden have been transformed by visual artist Micky Hoogendijk and garden designer Erwin Stam into an inspiring location where art, architecture, and nature come together.

Visitors experience a unique balance between homely warmth and artistic grandeur. Inside, you will find various style rooms, each with its own atmosphere and possibilities:

• The Piano Room – a salon where art and music enhance each other. Perfect for intimate concerts, lectures, or creative gatherings.
• The Evening Room – warm and intimate, with a fireplace and a long table for drinks, conversations, or small dinners.
• The Dining Room – a stylish space for private dining or business dinners, surrounded by artworks and design classics.
• The Garden – a green, secluded oasis in the middle of Oud-Zuid, designed as an outdoor exhibition. Ideal for garden parties, drinks, or receptions in the open air.

With a total area of 350 m² inside and 170 m² garden, Huize Zonnewijzer is suitable for various events: from meetings, workshops, and private dinners to artistic presentations, drinks, or exclusive garden parties. The spaces can be used separately or combined, allowing both small groups and larger gatherings to find a suitable setting here.
