RDM Kantine

In the middle of the Rotterdam harbor area, on the site of the former Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM), is the RDM Canteen. A place where, in the early 20th century, metalworkers and shipbuilders came together during breaks, with a sandwich from their own lunchbox. This function of meeting and coming together has remained to this day.

And actually, it is no different today. The ‘workers’ have changed, and the lunchboxes stay at home, but the moment of gathering in the canteen is still the same. In addition to being a meeting place for businesses and students on the site, the RDM Canteen is also excellent for various events. 

The interior combines authentic industrial elements with contemporary accents: high ceilings, robust materials, and atmospheric lighting, complemented by color accents and warm details. The venue consists of two parts. The RDM Hall can be separated by a steel glass wall, making it extremely suitable for meetings, presentations, or plenary moments in complete peace. The canteen area forms the heart of the venue, with a bar, restaurant setup, and direct connection to the kitchen: ideal for gatherings, drinks, and dinners.

Outside, the RDM Canteen has a terrace overlooking the harbor, which is perfect for business drinks and barbecues in nice weather. 

The RDM Canteen is easily accessible by car, with ample free parking right at the door. Additionally, the location can be uniquely reached by water taxi, which docks at the Canteen.
