RDM Kantine

In the middle of the Rotterdam port area, on the grounds of the former Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM), lies the RDM Canteen. A place where metalworkers and shipbuilders gathered during breaks in the early 20th century, with a sandwich from their own lunchbox. This function of meeting and coming together has remained to this day.

And actually, it hasn't changed until today. The ‘workers’ have changed and the lunchboxes stay at home, but the moment of coming together in the canteen is still the same. Besides being a meeting place for companies and students on the grounds, the RDM Canteen is also excellent for various events. 

The interior combines authentic industrial elements with contemporary accents: high ceilings, robust materials, and atmospheric lighting, complemented by color accents and warm details. The location consists of two parts. The RDM Hall can be separated by a steel glass wall and is therefore extremely suitable for meetings, presentations, or plenary moments in complete peace. The canteen area forms the heart of the location, with a bar, restaurant setup, and direct connection to the kitchen: ideal for meetings, drinks, and dinners.

Outside, the RDM Canteen has a terrace overlooking the harbor, which is perfect for business drinks and barbecues in nice weather. 

The RDM Canteen is easily accessible by car, with ample free parking right at the door. Additionally, the location can be uniquely reached by water taxi, which docks at the Canteen.
