The "oxgate" contributes to the unique atmosphere of the inner garden. Here, history becomes tangible, and the calming character of the garden is enhanced by the old chestnut trees that were present before the opening of the former Hermitage Amsterdam. These majestic trees later gained company with four newly planted walnut trees, creating a harmonious interplay of old and new within the garden.

Upon request, the inner garden is open for events, offering a unique experience when combined with the venues of the H'ART Museum. Whether it's receptions, walking dinners or other gatherings, the inner garden provides an idyllic setting for large groups of up to 800 people.
