VRIJ is a unique event location: a stylishly renovated monumental building situated on Landgoed Anckerwaerdt by the dike in Culemborg. VRIJ stands for hospitality, for translating your wishes. No fixed formats. It’s your day, your event, meeting, or party. You get to decide.

At VRIJ in Culemborg, you are always exclusive with your company. VRIJ is excellent for an uninhibited and relaxed gathering. Depending on the facilities you need as a trainer and trainee, you can come and go as you please. Even outside. A bit of team building or leadership training in the form of herding sheep is one of the possibilities, for example. But also 'just' brainstorming with your feet in the grass.

Exclusive rental is not an extra option but standard. Our boardroom is naturally equipped with all modern means to ensure an efficient meeting is not hindered.
The space is also very suitable for larger groups (up to 100 people in theater style) or training sessions.

Before, during, or after the meeting, you can enjoy a lunch, dinner, or drinks in the tastefully decorated 'deel' downstairs.
Then stretch your legs with a short walk around the estate or the dike. Pure Dutch pictures guaranteed!

Are you with a smaller group or do you need break-out sessions? Then you can take a seat in the viewing room, which gets its name from the amazing view you have there. This space is also equipped with a pantry, presentation screen, and private restroom.

Background information
VRIJ in Culemborg is located on Landgoed Anckerwaerdt. The estate was a fruit farm without a successor until about twelve years ago. The Kroezen family has redeveloped the nine hectares into an NSW estate, with VRIJ serving as the main building. The farm is still original although the front house was rebuilt around 1850 after it burned down at that time. It is not known when Van de Deel (the former cow shed) was built, but it is estimated to be around the mid-18th century. Characteristic and also determining the atmosphere are the Philibert beams, which have been beautifully exposed with the help of the architectural firm TANK from Amsterdam.

Green, greener..
VRIJ is not only surrounded by greenery, it is also very green! The existing solar panels provide solar energy to the geothermal heating system in addition to the building. The geothermal heating system heats and cools the
building with – as the name suggests – geothermal heat. The organic vegetable garden largely supplies fresh vegetables, and various measures have been taken within the company to minimize environmental impact.

Think of purified table water in our 'VRIJ bottles', eliminating the need for transport for still and sparkling water. In the restrooms, you won't find paper towels or hand dryers but small cotton towels that last for hundreds
of uses. VRIJ is well on its way to qualifying for a Green Key Gold certificate.
