Westergas

For years, Westergas has been a well-known name in Amsterdam. In 2018, the buildings of the Westergasfabriek were renamed to Westergas. The same site, new energy: the Cultural Village of Amsterdam. The seventeen historical buildings have found a new purpose and now provide a backdrop for creative entrepreneurs, events, and festivals. Three of the seventeen monumental buildings are rented out as event locations: De Wester, de Gashouder, and het Meterhuisje. The locations offer space for a wide range of events, both commercial and cultural. Westergas operates as an independent company without subsidies, where the commercial programming enables the cultural events. This creates a dynamic mix of business events such as presentations, trade fairs, dinners, and company parties alongside art fairs, theater, and live music.
