About the space

Behind the Fort lies a very beautiful hidden spot: Buitenplaats Fort 5. Right in nature with the fort in the background.

Officially, the buitenplaats is a terreplein (derived from the Italian terra piana: flat ground). This name is given to the flat terrain within a bastion, fort, or fortress. There are parapets on the edges to protect the troops. The terreplein can have artillery located on it.

An event in the open air

From a delicious barbecue, street food to a nice sit-down dinner outdoors. Or a nice drink that turns into a sparkling party. Plenty of options for a fun event.

There is an event tent with a bar, where you and your guests can enjoy yourselves. So if a drop does fall, you’ll be nice and dry under the tent.

Tip: Just take the little stairs up to the dike and you’ll have a fantastic view! Truly the most beautiful spot in Vijfhuizen.
