De Wester

Surrounded by the Westerpark, in the heart of a vibrant center of art, culture, and entrepreneurship, stands the monumental De Wester, the former Transformer house. The impressive nearly 10-meter high industrial space features a characteristic wooden roof structure and high-placed windows that fill the space with natural daylight. For a more intimate setting, these windows can easily be covered with wooden shutters. Through the back windows, you look directly out onto our iconic Gashouder. 

This event venue offers endless possibilities: an intimate dinner at round tables, large-scale brand activation, fashion shows with long catwalks, inspiring fairs and presentations, or a smashing party for up to 770 guests. Additionally, it is possible to rent all the rooms of the adjacent Westweelde, creating a total space of 1530 m². Ideal for events of up to 1900 visitors. De Wester can also serve as a break-out room in combination with Gashouder .

In De Wester, history is made daily with events from leading names such as The Greanery, Bitcoin Amsterdam, Robijn, and Rituals. International Theater Amsterdam (ITA) established their first own theater here in 1993, and events like No Art, Unseen, Live MMA, and Sanctum have grown here, eventually flowing into our Gashouder. 

Thanks to our fully catered packages for room rental, various catering partners, and versatile technical and presentation options, you have all the space to shape your event in your own creative way. Convenience, flexibility, and quality are paramount.

Festive Season in De Wester
In December, De Wester transforms into a warm, industrial setting where presentation, dinner, drinks, and dance floor seamlessly flow into each other. With an extensive technical setup, including extra screens and lighting. A place to reflect on the past, look forward, and conclude the year in a meaningful way, fully catered and Plug & Play.

In collaboration with Maison van den Boer, we offer a choice of different culinary directions: a luxury seated dinner or a flexible walking dinner, suitable for the type of gathering.
