Het Open Plein

The Open Square forms the impressive heart of the museum: a covered courtyard of 900 m² under an iconic glass roof, made up of 1,200 pieces of glass. The roof, equipped with 868 LED lights at the joints, is inspired by the compass lines of old sea maps. Thanks to these lights, the square transforms into an atmospheric setting with an almost magical appearance. 

After the museum closes, from 5:00 PM, the Open Square is exclusively available for events.
