The Modern Fossil

The signature room of Dirk van der Kooij is an ode to the end of an era of vinyl records and CDs. The centerpiece of the room is a conference table made from parts of old record players. You might not think about it much, but CDs are among the most difficult recyclable materials from the 2000s. Dirk van der Kooij found a way to reuse them in the form of the characteristic lamp hanging above the table. In addition to recycled CDs, they consist of skylights and chocolate molds (no joke).
