About the location
A celebration in the ARTIS Planetarium, a conference in the monumental Koningszaal, or a meeting surrounded by the art collection in the Stichtingskamer. Both small and large groups are welcome at ARTIS, at any time of day and in every season.

ARTIS is the place where you can experience nature in a unique way during your event. Enrich your event with a guided tour and meet the animals and plants we share our planet with in ARTIS-Park, explore the relationship between humans and nature in the ARTIS-Groote Museum, or discover the hidden world of microbes in ARTIS-Micropia.

Below you will find an overview of the rooms and their possibilities:

The Koningszaal
Organise an event overlooking the Dutch polder habitat, home to dozens of spoonbills, lapwings and other meadow birds. Enter the Koningszaal through an anteroom. The room is named after King William III, who granted ARTIS its Royal status. His portrait still hangs there today.

The Koningszaal is located on the ground floor of the Groote Museum. With its large windows, the room resembles an orangery, with French doors opening onto Artisplein. Suitable for conferences, dinners, parties and receptions. The Koningszaal can be combined with the reception anteroom and the adjacent Tijgerzaal.

The Tijgerzaal
From the anteroom, you walk straight towards the largest painting by the 19th-century artist Charles Verlat, Buffalo Attacked by Tiger. The tension of the tiger leaping onto the buffalo is still palpable. Since the museum’s early days, meetings have been held, knowledge exchanged, and meals enjoyed beneath the authentic chandelier.

The Tijgerzaal has doors that open directly onto Artisplein, where you can hear the golden-cheeked gibbons sing.
The Tijgerzaal is suitable for an intimate reception, dinner or gathering. It can be used together with the anteroom and the adjacent Koningszaal.

Blauwe Sterrenzaal
Come together beneath hundreds of blue stars on the first floor of the North Pavilion. This is where the ARTIS board once received King William III. The Blauwe Sterrenzaal is located on the upper floor of the North Pavilion of the Members’ Rooms, between the ARTIS-Park main entrance and ARTIS-Micropia. It is suitable for an unforgettable dinner, an inspiring meeting or a romantic wedding. The Blauwe Sterrenzaal can be booked together with the other rooms on the ground floor.

Stichtingskamer
Meet under the watchful eyes of former ARTIS directors. This was the study of the founder of ARTIS, Dr G.F. Westerman. The room has always been a place for organisation, reflection and future planning.

Bamboekamer
Present, meet or dine in the Bamboekamer next to the main entrance of ARTIS. Unique artworks from the ARTIS collection are displayed on the walls.

Planetarium
During the day, visitors are taken on a journey past planets and galaxies in the Planetarium; in the evening, it becomes a unique event venue. Project a visual spectacle of colourful animations onto a dome-wide presentation screen, or be transported by a DJ or live band performing on the circular stage at the centre of the room.

Projections and animations can be tailor-made — for example, product demonstrations or a compilation of photos. The Planetarium is available for hire after ARTIS-Park has closed.

Exclusive Summer Evening in ARTIS-Park
Enjoy drinks, a stroll and discoveries during an exclusive Summer Evening in ARTIS-Park. Spend an evening together with colleagues, guests or partners. During an exclusive Summer Evening, the entire ARTIS-Park is available for your organisation. ARTIS provides an evening full of conviviality, music and activities for your guests. Seasonal dishes are served from cargo bikes or food trucks throughout the park, and multiple bars offer a range of drinks.

Alongside activities for adults, there are also options for various children’s activities, including shows in the ARTIS Planetarium, workshops or a puppet theatre. A central meeting place is created in the heart of ARTIS-Park where your guests can come together.
