About the space
Attend a lecture in the company of a tiger and a buffalo. Enter through a vestibule that has its access on Plantage Middenlaan. The centerpiece of this room is the grand 19th-century painting by Charles Verlat. The tension of the tiger pouncing on the buffalo is still palpable. Since the museum's founding, meetings have been held under the authentic chandelier, knowledge has been exchanged, guests have been welcomed, and meals have been enjoyed.
The Tiger Room opens with doors to the Artisplein and is part of the Groote Museum. Step outside and see the stately flamingos and flying spoonbills above a piece of Dutch polder. This warm and homely room is suitable for an intimate reception, dinner, or gathering.
The Tiger Room can form a whole together with the vestibule and the adjoining Kings Room.
