What are the parking options at or nearby the venue?

Across Het Koelhuis, just a 2-minute walk away, you'll find the Q-Park garage at Lijmerij. The garage offers 250 parking spaces, for which we can provide exit passes.

Is the venue accessible by public transportation?

Het Koelhuis is easily accessible by public transport. We are located 200 meters from the station, which serves multiple intercity routes, including direct connections to Deventer, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Winterswijk, Zwolle, and Hengelo. Exiting the station through the rear exit and turning left will lead you directly to Het Koelhuis.

Can you spend the night at or near the venue?

There are several hotels in and around Zutphen, all within a 5-minute walking distance.

Is it possible to bring our own caterer?

We have our own professional production kitchen and handle events from A to Z. It is not possible to bring in external catering.

Until what time can a party last?

The celebration is possible until 1 a.m.

What is the accessibility by car?

Navigation address: Lijmerij 2, 7202 AZ, Zutphen. If you are coming from Apeldoorn/Voorst, continue towards 'De Hoven' at the final roundabout on the ring road. Follow this road over the IJssel bridge. Immediately after the bridge, turn left through the light tunnel. You will find the Station P+R parking garage on the first street to the right (diagonally across from Het Koelhuis).

About the venue

Welcome to Het Koelhuis!

A place where the past and future come together in a vibrant meeting spot by the IJssel. With its robust, industrial character and rich history, Het Koelhuis provides an inspiring backdrop for various gatherings. You can find us centrally located in East Netherlands, directly behind the NS station in Zutphen, by the harbor and next to a parking garage.

The building has five floors with nine flexibly usable spaces. These are particularly suitable for conferences, business meetings, cultural programming, staff parties, product presentations, photo shoots, and hybrid events. Het Koelhuis adapts effortlessly. The high ceilings, characteristic details, and visible traces of the past give each space its own industrial atmosphere. At the same time, the spaces are atmospherically decorated and equipped with modern facilities for comfort én quality.

Our experienced team is happy to assist in organizing your event. From the first idea to full realization: we support in concept development, production, technology, styling, and communication.

Sustainability plays an obvious role in this. The building has been repurposed with respect for the past and furnished with reused materials, energy-efficient installations, and a strong focus on quality and longevity. Het Koelhuis is therefore proud to hold the Green Key Gold certificate.

Since 2012, Het Koelhuis has been developed by Studio Hoogeveen & Van Tilburg. With a vision of ‘slow development,’ the building grows step by step with its surroundings and users. This approach has led to a lively place where culture, meeting, and entrepreneurship come together.

Whether you are organizing a large-scale event or an intimate gathering: Het Koelhuis offers the space, flexibility, and energy to create something special. The industrial spaces are equipped with modern facilities, such as color-adjustable LED lighting and a fast fiber optic connection. Moreover, the spaces have pleasant acoustics, suitable for both large productions and intimate gatherings.
