About the space

Historical allure
Did you know that this concert hall was for a long time the most important in Amsterdam? It is the oldest concert hall in Western Europe and famous for its acoustics. Renowned composers like Schumann and Brahms performed here. Has it still been used for music afterwards? Absolutely, because this hall was later taken into use as a department of music. The unique thing about this hall is that the old traditional elements are still very visible. You can see this in the balcony, the silhouettes, decorations, and the color.

The Concert Hall is extremely suitable as a plenary space for conferences, dinners, parties, presentations, and of course still for performances. Here you can replicate the sound of the past by using the acoustic walls, but you can also make use of the latest technologies. Additionally, the open space offers plenty of daylight for a lunch in the afternoon, but the hall can also be completely darkened for parties and presentations. This hall is located on the ground floor, making it easy to combine with other halls and the reception.
