About the venue
Welcome to the icon of the Keizersgracht!
250 years of history in a modern guise
Felix Meritis was founded in 1777 as a society of entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, and philosophers, and is completely ready for the 20s. This phenomenal house has seven beautiful halls, with the central space being the Concert Hall – even the small hall of the Concertgebouw was inspired by it. Another well-known classic is the Shaffy Hall, with balcony and foyer. The stately Zuilenzaal is a favorite for conferences, symposia, and product presentations. (Tip for speakers: grab your audience by the scruff, because you have competition from the stunning view over the canal…) And then we also have the Teekenzaal, Husly Lounge, Koepelzaal, and Sterrenzaal. The interior pays homage to the illustrious past while the facilities are state-of-the-art for the 21st century.
Felix Meritis has been thoroughly renovated and rebuilt by MATH Architects, and the interior was designed by i29. In 2020, the location in the heart of Amsterdam reopened its doors.
Felix Meritis as a cultural house
When you choose Felix Meritis as an event location, you choose to support culture. Amerpodia uses the proceeds from renting out the houses to facilitate and keep the cultural programming accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Felix Meritis is the ‘House for the curious mind’. A cultural house for the new generation of opinion leaders, ambitious professionals, and decision-makers from all walks of life. With an inspiring program around entrepreneurship, technology, science, and art. What should you think of? The Felix Lectures, Twenties Dilemmas, and a whole festival focused on Artificial Intelligence. But also programs about top women in the beta world and talk shows with creative entrepreneurs find a home in Felix Meritis.
Felix Meritis is part of Amerpodia B.V. together with De Nieuwe Liefde and the Rode Hoed. Three historic locations in the heart of Amsterdam.
