About
In this wonderfully colorful room, physics experiments were once conducted. The audience stood on the balcony around the room watching. Among other things, the famous falling experiment was done here, by making a hole in the ceiling and letting an object fall through it. An attempt was made to measure gravity. It may therefore not surprise you that the Department of Physics used to be housed here. But what is the Shaffyzaal named after? This has to do with the memorable performances of the famous singer Ramses Shaffy, in collaboration with Liesbeth List and Freek de Jonge.
The Shaffyzaal is extremely suitable for performances, creative breakouts, parties, receptions, and dinners. With the windows around the room, a lot of natural light enters, but they can also be completely darkened for a performance or party. Unique is the private reception room with a bar that has been created in the room with a large wall. There are also many expansion possibilities due to the balcony and the extra space behind it. The design, which has emerged from the creative Shaffy period, the technology, and acoustics are completely up-to-date and very innovative.
